RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds let you get the latest investment news or mutual fund information delivered directly from Vanguard. To subscribe, you'll need an RSS aggregator—often called an RSS reader or news reader.
An aggregator downloads content from other sites and then displays links to those sites on your personalized webpage or within a stand-alone software application. When you click one of the news headlines or fund information links in a Vanguard RSS feed, you're automatically directed to the relevant page on Vanguard.com®. Most aggregators update your links automatically, so you're always shown the most recent content.
Using My Yahoo! or Bloglines
Two of the most popular free RSS services are offered by My Yahoo! and Bloglines. They compile feeds from various Internet sources and list the articles on personalized webpages.
To add any of Vanguard's news or fund RSS feeds to your My Yahoo! or Bloglines page, simply choose the feed(s) you want and select a subscription method. For example, if you're a Bloglines subscriber, click one of the
buttons to add a feed automatically.
To sign up for one of these services, or for more information, visit their respective sites:

Using stand-alone RSS software
If you use a stand-alone RSS reader, such as SharpReader or FeedDemon, there are two ways to subscribe to Vanguard feeds:
- When you're asked to choose a subscription method, click the
button for the RSS feed you want. If your reader is configured to accept feeds automatically, the feed should be added to your RSS reader's subscription list. If not, clicking the button will open a new browser window containing HTML code. Simply copy the feed's URL from the browser address bar and paste it into your RSS reader's subscription field.
- Copy and paste the feed URL(s) into your RSS reader's subscription field. This option is appropriate if your reader isn't configured to subscribe to feeds automatically or if the
option does not work.
Using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher as your Web browser, you can subscribe to RSS feeds by clicking the
icon on any Vanguard.com page where it appears. This will open a new browser window that includes a Subscribe to this feed link in a yellow box at the top. Click the Subscribe link, identify where you'd like to save the feed, and click Subscribe. To view your feeds, click the star in your toolbar to access your Favorites, click
Feeds, then click the feed you wish to view. Clicking the feed will display a list of available articles, which you can then click to read.
Using Mozilla Firefox
If you use Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or higher as your Web browser, you can subscribe to RSS feeds by clicking the
icon on any Vanguard.com page where it appears. This will add a link for that particular feed to your browser's Bookmarks menu. Clicking the bookmark will display a list of available articles, which you can then click to read.
Using Apple Safari
If you use Apple Safari 2.0 or higher as your Web browser, you can subscribe to RSS feeds by clicking the
icon, then bookmarking the resulting page. (To bookmark the page, click the Bookmarks menu and choose Add Bookmark, then choose a location for the bookmark.) When new content is available, Safari will display a number of new articles in parentheses next to the bookmark name. Clicking the bookmark will display a list of available articles, which you can then click to read.
How to unsubscribe
You can unsubscribe from Vanguard RSS feeds at any time. How you do so depends on which RSS service you use:
- My Yahoo! On your My Yahoo! page, click the X button in the upper-right corner of the "News From Vanguard" menubar.
- Bloglines. On your Bloglines page, select the name of the Vanguard news feed and click Trash.
- Stand-alone RSS reader. Methods vary widely. Many RSS aggregators (SharpReader, for example) let you unsubscribe by selecting the feed's name in your feed menu and clicking Delete. Consult your RSS software's "Help" area for more information.
- Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Delete the RSS feed from your browser's Bookmarks or Feed folder.
